Around noon the first of eleven platoons arrived in Bruges, where hundreds of enthusiastic spectators were waiting for them. David Vansteenbrugge, CEO of Kom op tegen Kanker, explains: “Today the 1000 kilometers land here in Bruges. Every day, teams of eight cyclists run around 125 kilometers, from Mechelen to an afternoon city such as Bruges, and then back.” The city showed its support by coloring the town hall orange, a color that symbolizes charity.
