The Netherlands pays millions to get two children’s portraits from Frans Hals to our country. At an auction in New York, the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem and the Hague Mauritshuis together bought two paintings for almost 7 million euros. Forty percent of this is funded by Minister Eppo Bruins (Culture, NSC).
