The pavers have started at the bottom of the stairs at the Balsahout. There are pallets and piles of tiles ready. The sidewalks are being tackled.
The entire pendulum
From below, the workmen work on the footpaths towards the cyclist bridge. All tiles are released in the ‘garland’. The soil will be reinforced and the paths will be paved again. The pavers use the existing tiles so there will be no new ones. The paved plateaus on the stairs are also being tackled.
It’s nice that this is happening because the paths are used a lot by athletes and recreational users. The Balijbrug and the walking and cycling path have been in existence since 2005. Many tiles are no longer straight, which means there is a great chance of tripping.
