In addition to these small -scale forms of reuse, companies, governments and organizations are also aware of the realization that it is better and more creative about things that have become superfluous. Should they necessarily leave, or can it be used in a different way. That leads to unexpected solutions.
HVC wants to make itself superfluous
There is even a company that actually wants to make itself superfluous. Francis will hear that during a tour at the HVC waste center in Alkmaar. There they think that 75% of what waste is going into their combustion oven is actually not belonging there. In ‘Expedition Fair World’, primary school students (and Francis) learn how they can produce less waste themselves. Perhaps in the long term, the central or is superfluous.
Thinking about reducing waste is done at many organizations: in the national Week without wastefrom 19 to 25 May, everyone can participate in activities that are organized on the theme of sustainability.
