The Inter coach will do everything to have the Croatian against Fiorentina, who, however, did not train with his teammates today.
Poised between heart and reason, between haste and caution. This is how the days of Inter’s first week are lived without midweek commitments for a long time, with Fiorentina on the horizon. In Simone Inzaghi’s thoughts there is above all the situation of Marcelo Brozovic, bothered by a calf that continues not to give certainty from that Champions League evening at Anfield. This morning the midfielder once again trained separately.
Dejà vu
–
Hurry and caution, he told himself. On one side, Brozovic’s uniqueness is now full-blown and the coach would like to do everything to have him in the delicate match against Viola, on the other a relapse would be too serious a sin in view of the final race for the championship. And to think that, after the negative outcome of the first instrumental tests, the Croatian seemed already in the running for the Turin home game. But on the eve of the match the cold shower had arrived, with the player leaving the retreat in the car confirming that that calf was not yet in place. It is a mocking situation, in which the player that Inzaghi struggles the most to replace is the one around whom a climate of unknown hovers.
Poised

Also today Brozovic trained separately, as did Stefan De Vrij who instead points directly to Juventus after the break. At this point, tomorrow’s afternoon session remains for the Croatian, but it is already the day before: in the best of cases the midfielder will train in a group and take part in the championship match, in the worst he will abdicate instead for the second consecutive weekend. The situation is therefore similar to last week, with the difference that now Inzaghi has one more draw in his memory: the 1-1 against Torino, marked precisely by the absence of the director.
Vacancy
–
The theme of the so-called vice-Brozovic who does not exist at this point takes shape and substance again, with an alternative solution to be prepared in the event of a forfeit. The experiment with Nicolò Barella did not go well and will not be repeated, while Matias Vecino did not convince on either of the two occasions in which he was deployed in the direction (Empoli and Turin). Arturo Vidal has just returned from a week in which he certainly did not earn points and ownership of him would be at least surprising. Roberto Gagliardini and Hakan Calhanoglu are therefore missing: the former had already held that role with Antonio Conte last season, the latter has done so several times in the past. Inzaghi hopes in the recovery of his director, but in the meantime he is racking his brains for a plan B.
