The loss of the Bundesliga conference to the DAZN streaming service was a heavy blow for the Pay TV station. But Sky viewers will have new opportunities from 2025/26.

Sky customers will soon have to get used to it: The popular Saturday conference of the Bundesliga is moving to the streaming service in the coming season. But the PAY TV broadcaster wants to compensate for the loss with a new interactive offer-and according to its own information, relies on new options for the audience.

Under the title “My Matchday” Sky wants to offer a new experience from the coming season. With a “Multiview” function, users can follow several games of the Saturday afternoon games at 3:30 p.m. in a multiple picture view. If you prefer to use the usual linear signal, you will continue to receive the top game selected by the editorial team with a comment.

Another new function is the “match alarm”. This informs spectators about goals and special events of the other games during their chosen game. If you want, you can display the corresponding scene directly. This function is initially available via Sky Stream or via the Sky Q Receiver connected to the Internet.

The background to the upheaval is the auction of German football league for national media rights for the 2025/26 to 2028/29. Sky had to hand in the rights to the Bundesliga conference on Saturday. In the future, the streaming service will also show the Saturday conference in addition to the Sunday games – a format that was originally created at Premiere, the predecessor of Sky.

In return, Sky will continue to broadcast all individual games on Saturday, including the top game at 6.30 p.m., in the future also the Friday game. The second division offer remains completely with the Pay TV station.
