The TV crew of the US broadcaster CBS for the Champions League is very popular with fans and players. That is why some people like to get involved in fun.
The Champions League semi-final on Wednesday between FC Barcelona and Inter had a lot to offer for all spectators. A wild back and forth with six goals, including some very nice hits. Two of the goals went to the Denzel Dumfries account. The Dutch wing defender from Inter was one of the most striking players in the evening and was therefore also switched on from Barcelona for an interview with the TV station CBS.
The CBS crew around Thierry Henry (formerly Arsenal and Barcelona), Jamie Carragher (formerly Liverpool) and Micah Richards (formerly Manchester City) and moderator Kate Scott was in a good mood in conversation with the Milan player. At the end of the conversation, Micah Richard took over the floor again. “Denzel, before you leave us. I would be interested to see if you were named Washington after Denzel,” the Englishman asked. Dumfries affirmed the question, whereupon Richards said: “Okay, one more question. Do you like our show?” Dumfries affirmed again and said: “Of course I watch the show.”
Richards was now interested in who was the favorite expert of the Dutch international. Dumfries’ answer: “It’s hard, but you are my favorite.” Richards celebrated and called: “I love you.” Happy too early? Dumfries added another sentence: “But remember what Marcus said, your suit was really a bit too small.”
This meant Dumfries’ teammate Marcus Thuram, who recommended that Richards, after progressing against Bavaria, to wear one size larger. The TV expert’s reaction: he left straight line of the studio without saying a word. The other members of the TV crew and Dumfries could not help but laugh about it. A short time later, Richards returned to the studio.
