In the center of Breda, several young people were mistreated in the night from Saturday to Sunday. That happened in two different places. The police have arrested seven suspects.
On Lange Brugstraat, four boys were approached on the street around midnight. They indicated that they were beaten up by another group of young people. One of the boys started to hit, in the end the rest of the group would also have started to fight.
The police quickly tracked down a few of the suspects through the cameras on the street. Two of them, a 16 and 17-year-old boy, ran in Karnemelkstraat. A third 17-year-old came later. All three have been arrested.
A fourth boy from the same age ran road to Nieuwstraat, but was arrested later. A 17-year-old suspect was also arrested in Ginnekenstraat.
Mistreatment or bad weather?
It also went wrong on Vismarktstraat that evening. Two boys were attacked by two other boys around half past twelve. According to the police, they indicated that this happened ‘from scratch’. They reported a report and the police managed to keep the suspects.
However, those men said that they were robbed by the two victims and therefore handed out several blows and stairs. The 35-year-old suspect and 25-year-old suspect both come from Belgium. They were taken to the Bureau for Exception and Investigation.
