Election day in Aartswoud: high turnout, critical public

In the middle of the afternoon, the turnout during the municipal elections in Aartswoud was not at all disappointing. More than 150 residents of the village had already cast their vote. Among them are some critical citizens.

Mayor Van den Hengel of the municipality of Opmeer comes to see if everything is going according to plan. And that is the case. By mid-afternoon, chairman Nico Bleeker already counted 163 votes and that goes towards half of all voters in the village. “And that while it is often busiest later in the afternoon or in the evening.”

Café De Stompe Toren today serves as a polling station and although it is not overly busy, it drips nicely. Critical voices are heard among the voters when it comes to municipal politics.
