Willem Janssen hopes to be able to bolster his upcoming job as technical manager at VVV-Venlo mainly with his character, network and the help of experienced forces within the club.
“That gives me a lot of confidence that we can make something very beautiful out of this”, Janssen said after his presentation in front of L1’s camera. “It immediately feels good that I have returned here.”
Contacts and connections
The former player of VVV, who will conclude his player career at FC Utrecht this summer, is happy that he can fall back on his experiences as a player in his new role. “And my personal character also gives me the confidence that I can put my contacts and connections to good use,” says Janssen.

VVV’s general director Marco Bogers also praises Janssen’s character. “And he has also worked with great trainers such as Erik ten Hag, Steve McClaren and Erik ten Hag. We think Willem can also be a source of inspiration for young, talented players.”
Replacement of Valckx
Janssen will start his new job after the end of this season. From that moment on, the current technical manager, Stan Valckx, will have to clear the figurative field. It is still unclear whether he will remain associated with VVV in another position.
