Burberry opens flagship store in Paris

Burberry’s new flagship store in Paris is one of the first to showcase the British brand’s new design concept. The store is located at 376-378 Rue Saint-Honoré, one of the most famous shopping streets in the French metropolis.

At the opening, several landmarks in Paris were projected into the new ‘Birch Brown Check’ pattern. London cabs in the chocolate brown plaid could also be seen around the city. The store itself was also decorated with the pattern. The location is the third, after London and Shanghai, to implement the new design concept.

The store was designed in collaboration with architect Vincenzo De Cotiis. Burberry’s design DNA was incorporated into the design of the premises, for example in the form of the traditional Burberry check, which can be found in various variations in the store. Mirrored ceilings covered by a metal grid imitate the geometric pattern of the check. “Just as all great stories contain a maze, the intersections of lines and geometries bring dynamism to the environment where people become the protagonists of this contemporary Burberry story,” says De Cotiis.

The colors beige, black, white and red, which are characteristic of Burberry, can also be found in the room design. De Cotiis also used contrasting materials, combining concrete with ceramics and glossy finishes, contrasting with industrial elements and luxurious materials that put the new flagship in a modern light.
