Maarten van Rossem himself now knows who will be his successor as the jury member in De Slimste Mens. The broadcaster behind this hit show, KRO-NCRV, will announce it ‘these days’, although it is not yet clear how. In any case, Marcel van Roosmalen or Stefano Keizers has not been chosen, but who was selected?
Will it be Margriet?
TV critic Victor Vlam seriously takes into account that Margriet van der Linden is announced. “If it is this person, I think I will emigrate from the Netherlands, so this is a way to get rid of me: Margriet van der Linden,” he says in the latest episode of the podcast The Communicado’s.
Co-host Lars Duursma is not very enthusiastic. “That is someone after every 2.8 seconds a candidate will trigger later.”
Annoying person
Victor would find it horrible. “Yes, she did very quickly in her talk show in her talk show, yes. She did that in a very annoying way. Yes, I think it’s a really annoying person.”
He continues: “If she becomes it … I think the risk is that KRO-NCRV will choose someone who will represent their values very strongly. They have a very strong urge to find that broadcaster lately and Margriet is of course a very progressive figure. If she becomes it, I really expect the worst.”
Take a lot
The viewing figures of the smartest person really suffer from this, Victor thinks. “I think it will collapse complete and totally, but I also think there is a chance that they are so crazy to do it, because again: it is KRO-NCRV, it is the climate broadcaster of the Netherlands and she has been a finalist in the 2014 edition. So she has a history with the program.”
Whoever would be a good option? Gerri Eickhof. “I think it is a type for that.”
