Edson da Graça is the new presenter of The Voice of Holland, but you can wonder if that is not an insult to Martijn Krabbé, whose shoes he fills. “This is extremely stupid.”
Martijn Krabbé is one of the most beloved presenters in our country and has always perfectly completed the presentation of The Voice of Holland. Now he is succeeded by the relatively inexperienced Edson da Graça, who, according to Mediacriticus Victor Vlam, mainly benefits from the diversity policy of RTL’s TV boss Peter van der Vorst.
LieGing Edson
It is a strange choice: Jamai Loman was much more obvious and Edson is somewhat controversial. You would think that RTL makes everything to avoid the association of The Voice with horny men, but then they choose Edson, who has admitted that he was used by white men to ‘cover’ their white women in swingers clubs.
To make matters worse, Edson is also a liar. He admitted that on March 21 he lied crystal hard before a camera crew from RTL Boulevard. He indicated to them that he had not even been called for the presentation of The Voice, while that was already finished then. How in such a case you answer? Wendy van Dijk knows.
Image damage
All these things naturally contribute to his image damage, explains media aritor Victor Vlam in the New Revu. “That he lied in front of the cameras, I found extremely awkward. That happened only a week before the news came out that he will be a presenter of The Voice. He denied crystal hard.”
You should never do something like that, he continues. “That is really bad publicity and, moreover, wrong for his image. He could have chosen better not to give an answer instead of lying. I thought it was very painful that he was exposed as a liar.”
Swingers club
And that about ‘covering’ white women? Victor: “I also find that swingfish club uncomfortable. He should not have said something like that, it does not fit a presenter of a large family show.”
He concludes: “It is awkward publicity, a creamy story that he could know would be taken over and repeated everywhere. That people read such a story with red ears is not something you are waiting for as a presenter of a family program.”
