The Volksparkstadion is almost always sold out. Many HSV fans therefore switch to sports bars to follow the games live. An overview.

Fans without a season ticket at HSV often look into the proverbial tube: the home games are regularly sold out within a few minutes. Thousands of supporters often remain disappointed without a ticket. This triggers a bad mood, especially in the final phase of the season – after all, the HSV is about promotion.

But there are alternatives: T-online presents a selection of restaurants and bars that broadcast the HSV games live:

The “Aalhaus” in Altona-Nord is considered one of the most comfortable football pubs that Hamburg has to offer. Bundesliga and Champions League games are shown regularly-and also the HSV games. The “Aalhaus” does not accept reservations during football broadcasts. In good weather, a television is set up on the terrace.

“Aalhaus”: Eggerstedtstraße 39, 22765 Hamburg; Mon-Fri 6 p.m. to 2 p.m., Sat 3-3pm, Sun 3-23 pm; at HSV games Sat/Sun from 1 p.m.

The neighborhood belongs to St. Pauli? Not quite: The colors are dominated in black, white and blue on Hans-Albers-Platz. This is located at the “Sportpub petrol station”, the official home of the HSV Supporters Club. The parties before and after the home games and watching away from away games regularly attract many fans.

“Sportpub petrol station”: Gerhardstraße 7, 20359 Hamburg; Opening times vary, current information about Instagram.

For decades, the name of the iconic pub at S-Bahnhof Stellingen was program: “Unstable”. This changed for the HSV in 2018, but a renaming was never considered. The games of the “red pants” are shown in the “undisturbed” on a large picture.

“Unsignable”: Volksparkstraße 81, 22525 Hamburg: Opening times: “Light on – load on, light off – invite”.

The “Bahrenfelder” is one of the traditional addresses for HSV fans. The sports pub shows every game of the “red pants” on several large screen screens.

“Bahrenfelder”: Bahrenfelder Chaussee 85, 22761 Hamburg; Mon-Thu 3-24 p.m., Fri-Sat 3 p.m. to 2 p.m., Sun 3-24 p.m.

“Old Mac Donald” has an American Diner in Hamburg – and this has been a popular meeting place to watch football for years. The burger restaurant shows pretty much everything that is fun for sports fans, from federal leagues to football from England to the NFL. The HSV is of course also included.

“Old Mac Donald”: Stellinger Weg 33, 20255 Hamburg; Mon-Thu 12 noon-9pm, Fri 12 noon-2pm, Sat 12-3pm, Sun 12 noon.

The “Schramme 10” in Eppendorf has also earned a call as a “cult”. The peanuts are part of the beer or cola in the football pub. For the big hunger there are currywurst, chicken wings and salads.

“Schramme 10”: Schrammsweg 10, 20249 Hamburg; Mon-Thu 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Fri 5pm to 2pm, Sat 12.30-2 UH, Sun 1-23 p.m.

Whether the HSV games are shown in the locations mentioned may change at short notice. No entitlement to completeness is raised.
