In the re -sold folk park stadium, the HSV has to accept a sensitive damper in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga: On Friday evening, Hamburgers lost 2: 4 (0: 2) against relegation candidate Eintracht Braunschweig.

The home side never found their game. The guests played patiently and then took their chances: Leon Bell Bell brought Braunschweig 1-0 with the first dangerous shot of the game (40th). HSV defender Silvan Hefti, who caught his own goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes on the wrong foot (42nd), took care of the second goal of the “Löwen”.

Despite a double pack by Davie Selke (74./90.+5), it was no longer enough for the HSV, which had conceded the first home defeat for almost a year. BTSV joker Julian Baas (84th) and Rayan Philippe (86th) provided the decision and the liberation for Eintracht.

Braunschweig once again above the line

Braunschweig’s goalkeeper Ron-Torchen said: “Nobody had expected that. But we believed it. I’m really proud of everyone.” At least temporarily, the Lower Saxony left the relegation zone. They have been the bottom line for around two months.

The only good news for the HSV: Because pursuer 1. FC Köln in Fürth did not get beyond a 1: 1, Hamburg remains the leaders. The lead over ranks three and four could melt to three points.

First boredom, then the doorbell rings in the HSV goal

The game had nothing to offer in the first half. The HSV seemed sluggish on the offensive, Braunschweig when he was countered by Braunschweig without conviction. In other words – it was a very tough matter to see the 57,000 viewers in the sold -out folk park stadium.

But shortly before the break, the events overturned – because Hamburg’s Marco Richter made two serious ball losses and quickly switched Braunschweig. Only Bell Bell scored after a butter -soft flank from Philippe to 1-0 (40th). Then Hefti went unhappily in a cross between it and pushing the ball into his own goal (42nd).

Philippe missed 3-0, shortened for HSV

HSV coach Polzin changed three times the second half. The first good chance after the break had Braunschweig again: Fortunately, the Hamburg circle Philippe from 14 meters “only” “only” to the top edge of the latte (54.). The strong Marvin Rittmüller moved (56.).

In the 65th minute it was the substitute Emmanuel Pherai who heralded a Hamburg urge phase with his shot just next to the goal (65th). A flank of Jean-Luc Dompé balanced “Maskenmann” Selke in the mesh. The striker also had the chance to equalize, but did not really hit the ball (78th).

Braunschweig makes everything clear with a double strike

The Hamburg hopes for the turn did not last: Philippe initially left the third goal after a rebound from Heuer Fernandes (80th). Then the Frenchman was wide awake: he let a cross with a lot of overview for Baas, who scored 3-1 (84th), and made everything clear at the next attack by Christian Conteh with his eleventh seasonor (86.). Selke’s second goal (90.+5) briefly interrupted the Braunschweig cheer.
