According to “Sky”, RB Leipzig has another candidate in mind when “Sky”. As the Pay TV broadcaster reports, Danny Röhl should be on the Bundesliga club’s list. The former assistant of Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich and the national team is currently under contract with the English second division club Sheffield Wednesday at his first chief station.
Röhl and his team are in 13th place on the championship – Sheffield would be a relegation candidate in terms of the squad value (EUR 37 million). Only two teams in the league do better in the transfer market statistics “Squad value vs. league rank”. The 35-year-old had extended in spring 2024 to 2027 and would therefore cost a transfer.
So far, RB Leipzig has not commented on candidates. We are looking for a new trainer for the coming season. Marco Rose had recently had to vacate his post, as an interim coach, Zsolt Löw is a member of his post as Head of Soccer Development by Red Bull and to work by Jürgen Klopp to Leipzig until the end of the season.

Röhl: Experience in Leipzig and title in Munich
Before Röhl, it was speculated as candidates over Oliver Glasner, Roger Schmidt or Matthias Jaissle. Born in Zwickau, the RB was already a youth coach and assistant to the then chief coach Ralph Hasenhüttl. With the Austrian he then went to FC Southampton in England. Röhl was also traded there in December, but there was no change to a change to the club that has now been relegated.
Under Flick, the season in Munich followed with many titles including Champions League triumph 2020, but also the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with the national team. When Flick had to go in September 2023, Röhl’s time was over at the DFB, a month later he went to Sheffield. Since then, he has won an average of 1.39 points from 83 competitive games.
