The future of Jamie Gitten in Dortmund has been speculated for a long time. Now the dribble artist is said to have expressed his change of change.
Personnel planning at Borussia Dortmund could take a surprising turn in summer. As the Pay TV broadcaster Sky reports, Jamie Gittens plans his farewell to the Bundesliga club and has already signaled the club. The contract of the 20-year-old Englishman runs until June 2028.
The Dortmund responsible should therefore be open to a sale with a lucrative offer. However, according to the report, it is also not excluded: If no satisfactory offer is received, the association can imagine further cooperation.
Gittens has apparently played out of several clubs from the English Premier League – such as Newcastle United, FC Chelsea and Manchester United. FC Bayern is also said to have an eye on the offensive player. Last winter, some media rated 100 million euros for Gittens. According to the Sky report, however, the Dortmunders demand significantly less money.
Gittens switched from Manchester City to Borussia in 2020. He made the leap into the professional team via the U19, for which he now played 100 games. In the recent 4-1 victory against SC Freiburg, Gittens ended his months of goal as a substitute. On Wednesday evening, he and BVB will continue in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League at FC Barcelona with the German coach Hansi Flick (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online).
