Tadej Pogačar wants to achieve a lot again this season and has a lot going on until the Tour de France. However, a topic outside of sport disturbs him.
Tadej Pogačar is one of the most successful cycling professionals in the present – and one of the most prominent ones. The Slovenian is extremely present on social networks. Millions of fans follow him there. But privately, the 26-year-old prefers to stay away from the platforms.
Why? Pogačar found clear words in the run-up to the Flanders. For him, social media are “the cancer ulcer of our society”. There are also positive sides, he emphasized, but the negative impressions are deliberately delayed. It could happen that the platforms “spoil the day”.
The world champion also made it clear how he deals with it: “It is best not to take care of these things.” Pogačar tries to shield himself from criticism and external influences.
On Sunday he starts on the tour of the Flanders-also as a preparation for Paris-Roubaix, which is due a week later. His appearance on the net will attract a lot of attention: 2.1 million people follow the driver of UAE Team Emirates.
