In view of the falling corona numbers, Italy wants to lift the spectator restrictions at sporting events.
A capacity utilization of 100 percent is already permitted for the World Cup playoff between European champions Italy and Macedonia on March 24 in Palermo.
This was stated by Health Minister Roberto Speranza, who thus gave in to a demand from the Italian Football Association FIGC.
From the end of March, full capacity should then apply to all stadiums, confirmed Health State Secretary Andrea Costa. The 2G obligation for stadium access should fall.
At present, stadium occupancy rates of 75 percent are still permitted. In indoor sports, only 60 percent of the seats may be occupied. The 2G obligation still applies.
