Experienced Niko Hovinen will continue at HIFK next season, according to information received by Iltalehti. The 37-year-old Jokers’ breeding is planned for HIFK’s first goalkeeper for the 2025-26 season.
Hovinen finished his career once, but returned to the HIFK team in October.
Hovinen has played during his career in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and the Ebel League. KHL, AHL and ECHL also became familiar to the man. The goalkeeper has played in the men’s series as many as 19 different teams.
The Helsinki resident participated in the spring 2011 World Cup gold team.
