Because he has taken a performance-enhancing means, a baseball star receives a juicy punishment. It also affects its account balance.

Heavy setback for the baseballs of the Atlanta Braves: Outfield Jurickson Profar was blocked by the Major League Baseball (MLB) for 80 games. The league announced on Monday that the 32-year-old was positively tested for a performance-enhancing agent. With this, Profar not only misses half the season, but is also not eligible to play in the playoffs.

As the MLB announced, the hormone chorionic gonadotropine (HCG) was demonstrated by Profar. It supports the body in testosterone production and is therefore on the doping list.

Profar emphasized that this “the most difficult day of my baseball career”. He also explained that he would never knowingly cheat. Nevertheless, he asked for an organization, teammates and fans. He takes responsibility and accept the lock.

The punishment not only has sporting consequences: Profar is not paid for the time of the lock and thus loses around six million US dollars-half of his year.

The player of the Caribbean island of Curaçao signed a contract for three years and $ 42 million in the Bulabes in January. Previously, he was active at the San Diego Padres and had shown his strongest season to date. At 24 Homeruns, he was even elected to the All-Star team last year.

Profar is the first doping case in the MLB in 2025. Last year, two young players were also closed to doping regulations for violations. They also had to stop for 80 games. Several cases were also known in the Minor Leagues.
