In 2024 the prosecutors received over 226 million euros from Serie A companies. It is an increase of six million compared to 2023, 2.6% more. The data emerges from the annual report of the FIGC, based on what was communicated official by the clubs. And it is the confirmation that, in a football that seeks financial sustainability, the expenses for agents increase more and more.

Big

The aggregate data does not refer only to incoming operations-purchases, but also renewals and sales-concretized during the calendar year, therefore in the winter session of the 2023-24 season and in the summer. They also include emoluments linked to closed operations in the past, which however have had repercussions in the year in question. Some payments to the agents, for example, can be deferred over the years. Basically, one realizes that the heaviest operations for clubs are those related to zero parameters, because to convince a player released to reach a team rather than another it is necessary to satisfy with concrete topics both he and the professional who takes care of the interest. Federal documents show that the team that spent more in the “accessory expenses” of the transfer market was Juventus, which in 2024 touched 34 million euros (33,989). In second place in this ranking is Inter, which in 2024 paid almost 25 million euros in the pockets of the agents (24,737), while in third place there is Napoli, with more than 18 million euros (18,184). Among the medium-large stands out for virtue Turin, which for the prosecutors spent only 4,371,000 euros: among the 20 Serie A teams, only Empoli (4,259) and Cagliari (4,053) have spent less.

The movements

The Documents of the FIGC present the list of individual operations carried out by the clubs and the reference agents of the players involved in the market movements. Every single player can lead to several payments, also aimed at different agents. Atalanta, for example, in 2024 recorded a total of 40 transactions, from those linked to the arrival of Mateo Rettegui to Lazar Samardzic, from Nicolò Zaniolo to Hans Hateboer, for a total of more than 14.3 million spent on the prosecutors. For Juventus, however, the movements have been 82, a total which, however, also includes those referring to Juventus Next Gen, while those of the women’s team are not part of the count. The Inter champion of Italy, on the other hand, has the second Monte-Spese for the prosecutors-24.7 million-also in the face of a fairly reduced number of movements: between January 2024 and last summer, the payments of the Nerazzurri club to the prosecutors were 30, including those referring to the contract renewals such as those of Nicolò Barella and Denzel Dumfries. Milan, on the other hand, recorded 36 movements to agents, concentrated especially in the summer – in January only Terracciano arrived – for a total of almost 15.3 million euros (15,295), which place it in fifth place among the Serie A teams. In fourth place Roma appears with more than 17 million euros (17,108): 32 operations to the prosecutors carried out by the Giallorossi club. In addition to Turin, they managed to stay under the 5 million euros spent in “Accessories charges” also Monza (4,793), Venice (4,615), Empoli (4,259) and Cagliari (4,053).

Agents

Dozens of the names of the prosecutors cited by the FIGC. Among those that appear more frequently there are Giuseppe Riso, Paolo Busardò, Mario Giuffredi, Luca Puccinelli, Gabriele Giuffrida. Many clubs have one or more reference agents, such as Angelo Cristofoletti for Verona or Claudio Vagheggi for Udinese.
