Seydine N’Diaye reports discrimination against MVV supporters: ‘I was quite emotional’ | Dutch football

FC Dordrecht’s Seydine N’Diaye has filed a complaint against the supporters of MVV who racially treated him during the game on 25 February. The Limburg club previously imposed a stadium ban on the supporters after the incident in the injury time of the game that the guests lost 3-1.

N’Diaye returned from France last Thursday, where he was staying with his family in Lyon after the incident. ,,I was at the club the day after the game and then went to France on Monday to let it all sink in, because I was quite emotional after everything that happened,” the Frenchman with Senegalese roots reflected.

I called my mom right after it was over and said everything was okay. For me it’s ‘case closed’, I’m now focusing on the future again

“It was the first time that I was confronted with racism on a football field. At first I didn’t understand what was happening, but then I noticed that some MVV supporters were shouting jungle sounds at me. I tried to point this out to the assistant referee, but then got a yellow card. That made me even more emotional and that’s why I walked to the supporters’ section. I wanted to look the people in the eye who did this to me. Then I went to the changing room and left as soon as possible for home. There I saw that the players were all kneeling against racism after the interruption of the game. That has strengthened me.”

N’Diaye made his comeback on Monday evening as a substitute in the 1-0 win against TOP Oss. In the final phase, the mercenary of the Turkish Göztepe received a thunderous applause from the Dordrecht supporters when he entered the field. ,,That did me good. I was happy to be back on the field and contribute to the win. I called my mom right after it was over and said everything was okay. For me it’s ‘case closed’, I’m now focusing on the future again.”
