Loretta Schrijver has been the big star in the panel of The Masked Singer in recent years. How should the program continue now that the presenter has died at the age of 68?

Shortly after the turn of the year, Loretta Schrijver was still on display in the grand finale of The Masked Singer. In fact, she was in the middle, as the radiant center between Buddy Vedder, Monica Geuze, Gerard Joling and Carlo Boszhard. She died unexpectedly this week and that of course means that the panel is no longer complete.

Seat empty

How should The Masked Singer continue? Show connoisseur Eline de Ruig asks in Shownieuws To Carlo. “It also seems so double to me, because if you will run a new season or not, then that chair will be empty from her. That is incredibly confronting,” she says.

Carlo on that: “Yes, it is. I don’t have to think about it for a while, I must honestly tell you, because Loretta .. I think the word ‘was’ so crazy to say. Do you understand that I think that is very crazy? She was the star of the show.”

‘Don’t realize it yet’

It seems almost impossible to continue without Loretta, says Carlo. “How she experiences the program … experienced, I have to say. That was so special. All those characters … She loved those beautiful eyes of a hedgehog or loved a nice animal. She could experience that like no other.”

He knows nothing meaningful about it: “I don’t realize it yet, I have to tell you honestly.”
