9 euro ticket just a “marketing gimmick”?

The 9-euro ticket for buses and trains planned by the traffic light coalition has met with considerable skepticism from the opposition in the Bundestag. The CDU MP Michael Donth doubted that the draft law would have a steering effect when it was first read in the evening. Instead of making public transport more attractive through improved offers, the federal government is investing 2.5 billion euros in a “marketing gimmick”.
