The 48-year-old Erwin G. has been sentenced on appeal to eight years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment. In 2018, he killed Edita Moliené during bondage sex, after which he dumped her body in the Muidertrekvaart.
The 42-year-old Moliené from Naarden was found in the Muidertrekvaart on September 20, 2018. Her body was curled up in an inflatable pool with a plastic bag over her head and a rope around her neck.
Erwin G. from Bussum was sentenced to 14.5 years in prison in 2020, but he appealed.
In the appeal, G. denied that he was responsible for Moliené’s death. According to G., the woman suffered an epileptic attack during the bondage sex, after which she died. According to him, strangling sex was not involved here. He did admit to having dumped her body in the water.
The court in Leeuwarden now rules that G. is indeed responsible for Moliené’s death and condemns him for manslaughter, assault, vandalism and possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Personality disorder
The OM had demanded 14 years for manslaughter, but no TBS treatment.
Although the OM had demanded 14 years in prison for Moliené’s manslaughter, TBS treatment was not necessary in their view. Experts from the Pieter Baan Center had previously found that G. had a personality disorder with characteristics of borderline and narcissism, but nevertheless did not consider it necessary to demand TBS. The court sees it differently and rules that G. must undergo compulsory treatment after serving his sentence.
