8 free Radio2 Parkies concerts in Middelkerke
On eight Thursday evenings in July and August you can go to the Normandpark in Middelkerke for the 32st free Radio 2 Parkies concerts. The special festival setting, surrounded by greenery, at a unique location nearby, opens as early as 7:00 PM, so that everyone can arrive spread out for a great spot on the site, a snack and a drink. In addition to a walk-in program, all artists will also be on stage with their musicians.
Lineup:
On July 6, it’s up to Karen Damen to open the evening with a preview of her new ‘One Woman Show’. Then it is the turn of Topguns, which takes the audience on a nostalgic musical trip to the 80s. Topguns is the newest band around singer Sean Dhondt, Karen Damen’s husband and drummer Anthony Van der Wee, and guitarist John Miles Jr. (son of). These are the first performances of this new band with experienced and like-minded souls. They will let the audience sing along during the last Radio2 Parkies evening, with the pure 80’s classics from Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, Simple Minds, INXS and others.
On July 13, the Soulbrothers Wim Soutaer, Charles Van Domburg and Vincent Goeminne will be present.
On July 20, Mathias Vergels and his music-making men from Het Goede Example will come, including Mathias’ latest single ‘Too good to be true’.
On July 27, cycling fanatic Garry Hagger can be admired in Middelkerke, who met ‘The Most Beautiful’ broke through to the general public more than 30 years ago. He looks sharp, has a lot of energy and, above all, is eager to flatter the audience with his musicians this summer. His powerful voice is still the trademark of this top entertainer. With fresh pop songs, such as ‘Everything I want’‘Only with herbut also his latest single ‘Come to me’he remains current and he is up to date and he will play on July 27.
On August 3, our Eurovision Song Contest revelation Gustaph will come along, who with his ‘Because of You’ recently 7the was in Liverpool. Gustaph likes to let the audience enjoy his unique, versatile voice. Standing still is not an option, because this guy has so much talent that he really makes everyone dance.
On August 10, the versatile MAKSIM will perform, who became known to the general public as ‘Vincent’ in the popular Ketnet series #LikeMe. With his successful debut album ‘MAKSIM’ he has taken a lot of steps forward and while waiting for the successor, he just scored another hit with his latest single ‘Under the influence’.
August 17 The Rocket Guy will be on stage in Middelkerke. The Rocket Guy lets you enjoy the beautiful repertoire of the eccentric, iconic British world artist Elton John. ‘I’m Still Standing Standing’, ‘Rocket Man’, ‘Your Song’ and many more hits are reviewed.
Günther Neefs will close the Radio2 Parkies concerts in De Middelkerke on August 24. In ‘Love for Music’, Günther Neefs, son of the iconic Louis, is one of the absolute trendsetters this season. In recent years, Günther has released 15 varied Dutch and English albums, some of which have been awarded gold and platinum.
