8 champagnes under 60 euros in the test

In the evening champagne test, 8 different sparkling wines were tasted.

Iltalehti asked three wine professionals to list their own champagne favorites in wines under 60 euros.

Wine and Champagne Specialist, Master of Wine Essi Avellanwine and champagne expert Sanna Pöyry and the wine bar Vin-Vin winemaker Juhana Patjas gave their own favorites without knowing each other’s choices.

Everything starts with grapes. The champagne is made mainly from three grapes, red Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and white Chardonnay. Inka Soveri

A few wines had to be replaced because their availability is currently poor.

Wine Bar In a blind tasting at Vin-Vin, there were eventually 8 champagnes that were given stars from one to five.

Only one of the test champagnes is in Alko’s standard selection: Taittinger Réserve Champagne Brut.

The champagne test was held at the 10-year-old wine bar in Vin-Vin. Experts Juhana Patjas, Sanna Pöyry and Essi Avella tasted champagne blindly. Inka Soveri

The rest are in the order selection, so it will take a few days for them to arrive at Alko.

The hard level of the champagnes in the test is indicated by the fact that the wines left on the tails also received three and a half stars.

Most of the champagnes were ranked worth four stars. The winner, Robert Barbichon Blanc de Noirs Champagne Brut, received four and a half stars.

So there were only pearls in the champagne test. At the top is the winner, but champagne with four stars, for example, is not ranked.

The champagne is a sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region using the original champagne method, Méthode Traditionne. All champagnes are sparkling, but not all sparkling wines are champagne. Inka Soveri
