78:87! Alba conceded fourth bankruptcy in a row at Maccabi

Alba is still waiting for the first win after the two-week Corona break. On Tuesday evening, the Berliners lost 78:87 (39:47) in a catch-up game in the Euroleague against the Israeli series champion Maccabi Tel Aviv despite a big fight.

It was the fourth competitive defeat in a row and the 14th in the 20th game in the premier class. The best Berlin throwers were Maodo Lo with 18 points and Luke Sikma with twelve points.

The basketball Bundesliga club had to do without top scorer Marcus Eriksson again because of a foot injury. Tim Schneider also took a break. Alba started the game well and was attacking with a fast rhythm. In the middle of the first quarter, Berlin took a 15:9 lead. However, the guests allowed too much under the basket.

Cheered on by a packed and noisy arena, Maccabi also got into the game better. With their individual quality, they now punished every Berlin mistake in the fast-paced game, which was now piling up. At the beginning of the second period, Alba conceded a 2:13 run and was now chasing a deficit.

Taking over the 2.21 meter center Christ Koumadje helped Alba under the basket, but they were rarely able to stop the Maccabi offensive. In addition, there were too many ball losses. After the change of sides, the gap was in double digits for the first time (41:53). The Berliners fought and two and a half minutes before the end came back to three tamers (76:79), but in the end Maccabi had the better nerves.
