Alba Berlin ended the Euroleague season with a clear defeat. On Friday evening, the Berliners clearly lost 74:91 (37:49) to the top French club AS Monaco.
The basketball Bundesliga team thus ended the Euroleague in tenth place with twelve wins. The playoffs were no longer accessible before that. The best Berlin throwers were Christ Koumadje with 15 and Yovel Zoosman with eleven points.
Coach Israel Gonzalez was without long-term absentee Marcus Eriksson. Ben Lammers also had to pass. But the rest of the squad was available again. And Alba also started very concentrated, hit the first three distance shots. The first quarter was balanced and the lead changed back and forth.
But in the second section, Alba then lost focus. The hosts scored far too easily and on the offensive, the Berliners lost the ball too much and missed throws. Only four points were achieved for six and a half minutes. So Monaco was able to pull away in double digits before the break.
