US actor Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison, reported BBC.
On Thursday, Masterson was sentenced for raping two women.
Masterson, 47, became famous The 70’s Show – from the comedy series that was shown on TV at the time of the event.
Masterson was found guilty in a retrial in May after the first jury failed to reach a verdict in 2022. Today, the jury decided on a prison term of 30 years.
The actor was convicted after three women testified that he abused them at his Hollywood home between 2001 and 2003.
The jury said Masterson drugged the women before the events.
In the end, Masterson was convicted of two counts of rape. Charges brought by a third woman were ruled false, and prosecutors said they would not re-investigate the case.
The court ruled that Masterson could flee the country because of his convictions. For this reason he was immediately imprisoned.
The actor was first accused of rape in 2017.
Masterson is best known The 70’s Show – series, where he played a character named Steven Hyde between 1998 and 2006. A Netflix spin-off from the series appeared at the beginning of the year 90’s Show, featuring numerous original actors. Masterson will not be seen in the new series.
