The thief was pretty screwed: with a stolen load of cooking oil in a handcart, a man ran into a police patrol in Thuringia.
The 51-year-old had loaded several canisters with a total of 70 liters of the current hamster goods onto the handcart on Easter Sunday, according to the police.
Questioned by the officials in Bad Langensalza, he admitted to having stolen the oil from the storage room of a restaurant in the early hours of the morning. The police officers asked him to bring the oil back.
A complaint is now being made against the man known to the police for particularly serious theft.
