7 donne is a mystery is the Christmas comedy (out in theaters today 25th December) by Alessandro Genovesi with a touch of the Agatha Christie and an all-female cast. The parterre was made up of a group of ladies from our cinema, a very enthusiastic young actress and a legend of Italian song.

The plot of 7 women and a mystery
We are over the years Thirty. Surrounded by greenery and the snow that falls incessantly on Christmas Eve, a noble villa stands out in which the landlady lives Margherita Pizza (Buy), married for 25 years to Marcello, a man on the street and with many lovers (including the former flame Veronica, played by Micaela Ramazzi), Agostina (Impacciatore), sister of Margherita and always in love with her brother-in-law, Maria (Luisa Ranieri), the beautiful and impossible maid, Catherine, the youngest daughter (Benedetta Porcaroli) and grandmother Rachel (Vanoni), who can’t do without a shot every now and then.
Just on Christmas Eve, the eldest daughter of Marcello and Margherita returns home Susanna (Del Bufalo), but finds a nasty surprise: the father in his room with a knife stuck in his back. A tragedy. But who is the killer?

The differences with François Ozon’s film
The film is the Italian version of 8 Femme by the Frenchman François Ozon with Catherine Deneuve, Fanny Ardant And Isabelle Huppert. Genoese (Worst Christmas of my life) walks away playing between thriller and comedy, removes the dark dimension of the original film, adaptation of the play by Robert Thomas, moves the setting from 1950s to 1930s, do not let the actresses sing and eliminate a protagonist.

Ornella Vanoni? A hilarious comedy
Ornella Vanoni she plays the funniest character in the film, plays, as only she can, with self-irony. Rachel she is Susanna’s grandmother and Catherine, she is of a certain age, she moves with a wheelchair, but her legs work and how.
