A magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit Dolores in the Philippines on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reports. The quake was felt as far as Manila, the capital of the archipelago.
The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers, the USGS said. The earthquake’s epicenter was about seven miles east-southeast of Dolores.
Dolores is a municipality with approximately 45,000 inhabitants. The damage and possible casualties are not yet known.
