The Berlin public prosecutor’s office has now brought charges against a burglar. The 38-year-old stole jewelry and wristwatches worth 681,000 euros during an apartment burglary!

According to the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect is said to have gained access to an apartment in Prenzlauer Berg between April 3rd and 6th. He is said to have cut an 80 by 65 centimeter hole in the door.

“He is said to have taken, among other things, 33 wristwatches, at least ten necklaces, twenty pairs of earrings and thirty rings with a total value of 681,000 euros from the apartment,” says Sebastian Büchner, spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office.

The investigators secured the DNA of the man, who had appeared several times, at the entrance hole in the apartment door. Arrest! But the valuable loot has still disappeared to this day.

The man had only been released from prison two months ago.

“The 38-year-old may have had special knowledge of where a break-in might be worthwhile, but it was probably just a coincidence,” said the spokesman.
