The victim of the fatal accident in a cheese factory in Kaatsheuvel on Thursday evening is a 61-year-old man from that town. He was seriously injured when he became trapped between a machine. The victim was resuscitated, but assistance was of no avail, the police said on Friday.
The accident in the cheese factory on Belgiëstraat in Kaatsheuvel happened around half past eight. The area surrounding the company was cordoned off and factory employees were accommodated in the canteen. Victim assistance has been called in for them.
The Labor Inspectorate is investigating how the accident could happen.
Cheese is produced, ripened, cut, packaged and distributed in the Uniekaas factory, as can be read on the company’s website.
