60% more bankruptcies compared to last year
In the first 10 months of this year, 772 companies filed for bankruptcy, such as window and door manufacturer Belorama from Tielt last week. In the same period last year, there were 469 companies. Striking: construction companies in particular go bankrupt. In the Kortrijk and Ypres regions in particular, the number of bankruptcies has risen sharply, by 80%. At 25%, we see the least increase in Ostend.
This brings us back to a similar number of bankruptcies from before the corona crisis.
