At least 50,000 chickens died in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday due to a fire on a chicken farm in the Gelderland village of Puiflijk in the Land van Maas en Waal. They were in a barn that completely burned down. The fire brigade was able to prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent barn with another 50,000 chickens.
