50 officers injured after far-left protest in Leipzig, 30 arrests

Fifty police officers were injured in riots with far-left demonstrators in Leipzig. Chief Constable René Demmler said this on Sunday. There were also injuries among the demonstrators, but Demmler could not put an exact figure on that. The police opened an investigation for assault and attacking police. Thirty arrests have also been made, possibly leading to pre-trial detention.
