50 Cent thinks Eminem deserves even more credit

50 Cent guested on the podcast Ebro in the Morning on Tuesday (October 18) and felt Eminem should be given more credit for his influence on hip-hop. “For people to embrace something, they have to see where they fit in,” 50 Cent said – and he thinks Eminem has shown people something to relate to.

Curtis Jackson, as 50 Cent’s real name is, says this in the context of his current series “Hip Hop Homicides”, which investigates murder cases in the hip-hop world. A show like this probably wouldn’t work without Eminem.

“I think part of Eminem’s legacy is the growth of our culture. People wouldn’t buy if they didn’t see where they fit in. And he’s there, and he’s a legitimate artist because of his journey. If you watch 8 Mile, you see a black story with a white lead. You see poverty, you see [ähnliche] Circumstances. Look at his friends Proof and D-12 and everyone: these are real hip-hop guys. Which means: he’s also a real hip-hop guy.”

50 Cent congratulated Eminem on his 50th birthday on October 17th. “Happy Birthday my boy @Eminem I love you. I wish you many more to God. I’ll come visit you when you’re done touring,” he wrote on Instagram. There is also a picture of Eminem in a suit with a birthday hat and a gun.
