Hammer Hertha! After the false start in the league with zero goals and zero points, coach Pal Dardai’s team deservedly defeated Greuther Fürth 5-0!
The first win of the season in the 2nd league is the great redemption after the horror start with three league games without a point or a goal. Now Hertha can finally celebrate again!
And initially gets strong support from the guests …
The 23rd minute: Fürth keeper Jonas Urbig jumps the ball in his own six-yard box, Hertha striker Haris Tabakovic keeps his foot in the liberating kick and pushes the ball over the line to make it 1-0 – the first league goal after 292 minutes without Goal.
Marten Winkler then makes it 2-0 before the break – the Olympic Stadium celebrates!
And even after the break, Hertha rolled over the guests: Tabakovic put through for Palko Dardai, who stayed cool and pushed in to make it 3-0 (46′). In the stands, President Kay Bernstein clenches his fists and breathes a sigh of relief.
In the 66th minute, substitute Gustav Christensen came through strongly on the left and found Joker Smail Prevljak in the middle – 4:0! Tabakovic can celebrate again in the 77th.
Tjark Ernst keeps the box clean at the back, in front of it Toni Leistner conducts the defensive with a mask.
In the meantime, nothing is going together at Fürth. Hertha keeper Tjark Ernst parries the few dangerous shots. Fürth’s head coach Alexander Zorniger sees referee Stieler’s flash traffic light card in the 55th minute because of repeated complaining.
Curious: Assistant Rainer Widmayer coaches the team until the final whistle – who used to be an assistant coach at Hertha himself.
On the other side, the 35,291 fans make the Olympic Stadium tremble – the Hertha explosion!
