41-year-old mystery surrounding three missing friends solved thanks to amateur detective | News

A mystery surrounding the disappearance of three friends from the United States who had been missing since 1982 has finally been solved. By the police, but not without the help of a clever hobby detective. Jason Souhrada had been fascinated by the case since childhood.

LOOK. This is where Jason Souhrada found the wreckage of the three missing friends:

In the small American village of Washington, North Carolina, three friends disappeared in December 1982 after a night out. William Clifton (30), David McMicken (24), and Michael Norman (32) left a bar on December 10 after a few drinks and wanted to drive home in a Chevrolet Camaro. However, they never got there. Police searched for the car and its occupants for weeks, but they were never found. Until two weeks ago, on February 10.

Amateur detective Jason Souhrada, who had known the case since his childhood, got stuck into the case. “I was inspired by YouTubers who searched that city several times but were unable to find the three,” he told Fox News.

Pond

He decided to drive the three’s supposed route home again. After driving about six kilometers he came to an artificial pond. He learned from police reports from more than 40 years ago that it had never been searched because it was not accessible to boats.

Souhrada bought himself a cheap sonar device, mounted it on a four-foot bodyboard and began searching the water tank. It didn’t take long before he found what he was looking for.

“I saw something on the monitor that looked like a car,” the man told news station WITN. The man reported his discovery to the police, who emptied the water tank. They soon found the car containing the remains of the three missing men.

Relatives

The families of the victims are very grateful to him, even after all this time. “I was just a little girl,” says Lea, the daughter of the late William C. “I will never forget the details of the night my daddy didn’t come home. I’m glad Jason has finally given us and the other two families certainty.”
