The police have arrested the driver of a van with almost 400 kilos of hashish in it. Officers tracked down the van after an anonymous tip.
Around half past eight on Friday evening, the police received an anonymous tip that drugs may have been loaded into a bus in Bergen op Zoom. The van then drove off in the direction of Wouwsestraatweg. The report contained the description of the driver and a description of the van.
Bags filled to the brim
Officers saw a van and a driver matching that description on Wouwsestraatweg. When they approached the driver, the officers smelled a cannabis smell. There were 21 bags in the back, filled to the brim with blocks of hash.
The driver of the bus has been arrested. The drugs have been destroyed.
