Artistic expressions are an excellent tool to reflect on our present, learn about our past and recognize all the enormous effort that it cost us to put an end to long decades of dictatorships, in order to reconsolidate our democratic institutions, rights and freedoms”, says the head of the City Government, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta.
Regarding the 40 years of democracy, the Minister of Culture of the City, Enrique Avogadro, he reflected: “We want the celebration to help us remember what we had to do to preserve democracy. Remembering is a reflective exercise that allows us to learn from what we have experienced and value what we have achieved. Without the rule of law, without freedom and without peace, there is no progress. May this celebration serve us to think of this anniversary as a threshold to the future, where the values that unite us empower us and that, together, we move forward defending and improving our democracy forever”.
On the other hand, the director of the Music Department, Lorena SchejtmanHe added: “Democracy is what gives meaning to the day to day.
