Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay have made official applications to jointly host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.


South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) President Alejandro Dominguez stated that the application was made at the press conference held in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, and said, “We want to realize a dream for our continent.” said.


Reminding that Uruguay hosted the first World Cup held in 1930 and won the tournament, Dominguez said, “This tournament will turn 100 years old only once in its history. This opportunity should be used well and the World Cup should return home.” he called.


It is expected that the country or countries that will host the FIFA World Cup in 2030, which will be jointly organized by Qatar, Canada, Mexico and the USA in 2026, will be announced in 2024.


Spain and Portugal have previously applied to jointly organize the tournament in 2030.
