FSV Zwickau lost the duel with its ex-coach Torsten Ziegner. The West Saxons, who fought convincingly, suffered a deserved 1-0 defeat against MSV Duisburg because the Enochs team woke up too late. It is the second bankruptcy after the 0:3 against SV Meppen.

Zwickau started very energetically and put Duisburg under pressure early on with intensive pressing. An input from Robert Herrmann in the 8th minute was missed in the center by several players from Zwickau. On the other side, ex-Zwickau Sebastian Mai headed just wide of the far post (13′). Zwickau rarely got in front of the opponent’s goal and only had another chance from a distance when Mike Könnecke shot over the bar (33′). Three minutes later, the hosts got a cold shower: After a heel drop from Moritz Stoppelkamp, Niklas Kölle crossed into the penalty area, where Ekene headed in from close range to give Duisburg a deserved lead at the break.

Zwickau wakes up too late – MSV keeper saves Duisburg victory
The game flattened out in the second half. There were always interruptions, which hindered the flow of the game. Zwickau tried to equalize, but lacked accuracy in the last third. Duisburg, however, acted in management mode and waited for sporadic counterattacks. Maximilian Jansen, who just missed the goal with a shot from the inside right position, had the first good chance to score for the hosts (64′). Substitute Noel Eichinger, who had just come on as a substitute, had another big chance, who failed from close range at the MSV keeper (81st). In the minutes of added time, Zwickau threw everything forward again, but Johan Gomez, who also came on as a substitute, also found his master in goalkeeper Vincent Müller (90+4).
