VfL Osnabrück beat Erzgebirge Aue 3-1 (1-1) in the third division on Saturday and celebrated their sixth win in a row. Meppen missed the first three since August in the 1-1 (1-0) in Zwickau.
After the recent successes, Osnabrück started with a lot of self-confidence and pressure. Robert Tesche almost took the lead in the third minute, but Aue’s keeper Martin Männel deflected the ball onto the crossbar.
However, it didn’t take long before the VfL fans could actually celebrate. Männel unhappily fended off a shot by Noel Niemann. Erik Engelhardt thanks him and pushed in to make it 1-0 (9th).
VfL with luck and veteran Heider
However, the leadership did not ensure security for the Lower Saxony. Rather, Aue then took control and got the deserved equalizer, even if VfL gave a lot of help. Florian Kleinhansl fended off the ball without any effort with his hand, there was a penalty, which Dimitrij Nazarov converted safely (21st).
Osnabrück needed a long time to get back into the game – and a lot of luck: Lukas Kunze’s shot would have missed the target by a wide margin, but was deflected into an untenable way for Männel – 2:1 (57th). Marc Heider followed up in the 80th minute. (The statistics of the game)
Meppen lost leadership in Zwickau
SV Meppen, on the other hand, is slipping deeper and deeper into the relegation vortex. The draw in Zwickau was the 17th league match in a row without a win for the Emslanders. In a weak game, SVM took the lead with one of their few good attacks: Marius Kleinsorge made a deliberate shot (24′).
But indicative of the Meppener’s situation: Marvin Pourié scored an own goal to equalize for the hosts (67′). At SVM, hopeful Marcos Álvarez came on with just ten minutes to go. But he couldn’t end the negative series either. (The statistics of the game)
