In the top game of the 3rd league, SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball had to admit defeat to the front runners Dynamo Dresden. The first half in particular offered numerous sporting highlights.
Without captain Johannes Reichert (yellow suspension), SSV Ulm 1846 Football went into the top game against Dynamo Dresden on Sunday (October 15th, 1:30 p.m.). The club’s identification figure watched the game neither on the substitutes’ bench nor sitting in the main stand, but rather in the middle of the Ulm fan block. At times the blocked defender on the fence gave the lead vocals, appropriately with a megaphone and full commitment.
Confirmed on the lawn the sparrows continued their good form from the past few weeks from beginning to. Above all, offensive player Leonardo Scienza tore the visitors’ defense time and again into disarray with his fast dribbling. After around 25 minutes, it was Scienza who had the first big chance to score of the game. Slightly pressured by defender Jakob Lewald, the Ulm native failed with his shot past keeper Stefan Drljaca.
Wild ride in Ulm’s Donaustadion
Scienza’s chance really got the game going. In the 28th minute, Scienza served a corner precisely to the head of Lamar Yarbrough, who headed it in after a slight deflection from Lewald to make it 1-0 for the hosts. The Ulm fan block with Johannes Reichert was crazy, but their joy was short-lived. After a free kick from the half field, Dynamo striker Stefan Kutschke came free to head the ball and equalized the score at 1-1 (33′).
Shortly afterwards, Ulm goalkeeper Christian Ortag made an outstanding save against Dennis Borkowski (35′), but just two minutes later Ortag was defeated again. A corner from the guests landed in the penalty area right at the feet of Claudio Kammerknecht, who scored from close range to make it 2-1 for Dynamo (37th). But that wasn’t it from the first half. In the 45th minute, Romario Rösch crossed to Lucas Röser, who volleyed through Drljaca and made it 2-2 against his former club.
Chamberlain second
After the break, things continued intensely. Dresden’s Jonathan Meier placed a free kick just over Ulm’s goal (50′). In the 57th minute, Dynamo took the lead again. Tom Zimmerschied passed the ball past Ortag and flicked it from the baseline back to Kammerknecht, who easily made it 3-2 for the Saxons and thus scored a brace.
Dynamo then controlled the game and hardly allowed the hosts to make any compelling shots. In the 83rd minute, the Saxons had a huge double chance to score their fourth goal when Kevin Ehlers hit the post with a header and Kammerknecht narrowly missed the goal in the follow-up shot. At the end of regular time, Ehlers was the focus again – but in his own penalty area: The Dresden player almost deflected the ball into his own goal during a clearance.
Dynamo ultimately kept their narrow lead over time and won 3:2 (2:2) at SSV. As league leaders, coach Markus beginning’s team (25 points) is three points ahead of second-placed Jahn Regensburg (22) and five points ahead of third-placed Ulm (20).
