Lose determined and strong at the beginning
Accordingly, the East Westphalians went to work in the first few minutes. Incidentally, Verl’s recently very successful attacker Ron Berlinski, who only joined Verlern from the 5th division at the beginning of the season and announced this week that he wanted to play for the regional division team RW Essen in the coming season.
It was also Berlinski who initiated the first losing chance in the 9th minute: his sharply kicked corner somehow landed in front of Vinko Šapina’s feet, who couldn’t put the ball into the BVB goal from ten meters.
Borussia breaks free
As the game went on, however, the home team from Borussia got on better and gained more possession of the ball. And in the 29th minute they almost scored: Timo Bornemann crossed from the left as soft as butter, he found Marco Hober in the center, who put the ball just over the box from Loser.
Minutes later it was 1-0: Christian Viet stole the ball from the losers in the build-up game, played across to Tachie, who only needed to push in from 13 meters.
Corner variant equalizes
Loser’s equalizer in the second half (56′) came from a fine corner kick variant: After Lukas Petkov’s Kasim Rabihic played a one-two and overcame Dortmund’s keeper with a shot into the near post. Verl turned the game around in the 63rd minute: Petkov played an involuntary one-two with Tom Baack and netted from 12 meters – 1:2. That was the win. Because Franz Pfanne missed a hand penalty for Dortmund in injury time.
