Braunschweig defeats Würzburg and is second
Eintracht is also still in the thick of it in the promotion business and with the mandatory win against Würzburg, who are at risk of relegation, pushed past Kaiserslautern to a direct promotion place, at least temporarily.
After an uneventful first half here and there, Bryan Henning scored the goal of the day in the 54th minute. Kickers keeper Hendrik Bonmann played the ball risky in the middle, Jannis Nikolaou stormed in between and put it across for Henning, who executed a low shot.
Consbruch will probably be out for the rest of the season
The substitution of Martin Kobylanski after the break also paid off for the Lower Saxony, who brought a lot of momentum. Midfielder Jomaine Consbruch, who broke his left collarbone in training and has already had an operation, was not present at Hamburger Strasse. He will probably not be used again this season.
